April is the recipient of the 2023 Newaygo County Influential Community Leader Award, the 2024 White Cloud Public Schools “I Care” Award, and was named one of Crain’s Grand Rapids Business Top 40 Under 40 in October 2024. She has also served as a public speaker at conferences and universities, sharing what it means to lead with integrity, grit, empathy, and grace while serving at the local level.

With more than eight years of service to the City of White Cloud, April remains committed to the community and its continued progress. She takes pride in the work being accomplished and the impact of her team.

April has been married to her best friend, Rick, for more than 21 years. Together, they have raised two children (Trevor & Natalie) and have one (Keagan) still in high school. She is passionate about leadership, values, and public service, and is widely recognized for her authenticity, humility, and servant leadership. She maintains an open-door policy and welcomes residents to stop in with questions or concerns.
